In EOS, a weak product-knowledge result sets off a loop: a quiz built from what the rep got wrong, then a review schedule that brings those questions back. It’s a useful loop, and it’s worth being precise about what it does, what a manager can see of it, and what it doesn’t claim to do.

What triggers a remedial quiz

When a session’s product-knowledge score comes in below 80, EOS generates a quiz for that rep in the background, built from the claims they got wrong in that session. If there aren’t enough failed claims to fill a quiz, it adds extra questions on the same product. The questions can be multiple choice or free response.

Nobody has to ask for it, and nobody is told it happened. The rep finds it in their own quiz area, and managers aren’t notified. A manager who wants to know whether a remedial quiz was created has to look at quiz activity separately.

A remedial quiz belongs to the rep it was made for. It’s the only kind of quiz tied to one person.

What the rep does with it

On the Quiz page, a rep has two paths under “Start a quiz.”

New quiz lets them pick a product or let EOS choose one for them. When EOS chooses, it prefers that rep’s own remedial questions first, then questions that are already due for review, then general questions on the products where their scores are weakest.

Review is labeled “Revisit the questions you missed.” If anything is due, it shows a count, labeled “due for review,” with a Start review button. If nothing is due, it says they’re all caught up. The home dashboard also shows a small chip with the number of reviews due.

The rep sees a count, not a list. The Review panel doesn’t show the text of the due questions, so a rep finds out what’s due by starting a review. A review sitting serves a limited batch at a time, so a large backlog takes more than one sitting.

The Quiz page also shows the rep their own stats: total attempts, accuracy, a streak counter, and focus areas, which are the products where their quiz accuracy is lowest, each with a Practice button.

How the review schedule works

Every question a rep has answered gets its own review date, for that rep. A question nobody has tried yet has no date.

Intervals grow as the rep keeps answering a question correctly. A miss brings the next review back to one day. The schedule belongs to the individual question and the individual rep, so two reps on the same question each have their own date, and a quiz or a product doesn’t have one date for everyone.

This applies to any question a rep has answered, whatever created it: the general product quiz from onboarding, a remedial quiz, or a question an admin wrote by hand. They all feed the same Review pool.

One detail for admins: if an owner or admin overrides a grade, that question’s next review resets to one day, even if they mark the answer correct.

See what the verification behind these quizzes checks. Our 12-page report, Beyond Roleplay: The Rise of the Sales Knowledge Engine, covers claim extraction, fact-grounded verification, and the questions worth asking any vendor about how knowledge gaps are found and followed up. [Download the whitepaper →]

What the rep sees after each answer

Right after submitting, the rep sees Correct or Incorrect and a short note on why. Free-response answers are graded by a model against that question’s rubric, and the rep can see the rubric afterward. If the question has an explanation, it shows too, along with a source name, and a link when one was kept. A missed multiple-choice question also shows the correct answer.

Two small caveats. The link isn’t guaranteed to point to the exact page a fact came from, and sometimes there’s a source name and no link. And if grading itself fails, the attempt is marked Incorrect and the feedback is an error message, not a real explanation, so an unexpectedly harsh result is worth a second look. Admins can override a grade.

No reminders, and nothing expires

EOS doesn’t send an email or any other notification when a review comes due. The rep sees the due count only when they open the Quiz page or their dashboard. If they never open those screens, the review simply stays due.

Overdue reviews stack up and never expire. A question stays due until that rep answers it again, and answering it moves only that question’s date. That’s easy to underestimate: a team that doesn’t open the Quiz page will accumulate due questions quietly.

What a manager can see

Org admins and owners can open the Quiz page’s organization stats, which show one team-wide number: how many questions the team needs to revisit. From there, they can open team attempts, filter by trainee, product, question type, correct or incorrect, and dates, and open any single attempt to see the question, the trainee’s answer, the verdict, the feedback, and the next review date.

The organization dashboard adds two views. The Curriculum Gap heatmap shows quiz accuracy for each trainee on each product, and clicking a cell opens that person’s attempts for that product. The needs-attention list flags trainees who have gone quiet for about a week, or whose session scores or quiz accuracy have dropped.

Trainers don’t see these views. The team-wide due count, the team’s quiz attempts, and the question-management tools are for org admins and owners.

What the loop doesn’t do

Because the loop looks tidy, it’s worth being direct about what it leaves out.

It doesn’t change the session’s score. A quiz result updates quiz accuracy and the review schedule. It never re-grades the call that triggered it.

It doesn’t mark anything as fixed. There’s no “gap closed” or “mastered” status. A run of correct answers only pushes that question’s next review further out, and the question stays in the pool. The loop records attempts and accuracy and schedules the next review. It can’t tell you a mistake is fixed.

It doesn’t count repeated misses. EOS keeps every attempt, but nothing shows how many times a rep missed the same question or the same claim. The needs-attention list flags inactivity or a recent drop, not a repeated miss on one question, and someone with steady low accuracy and no recent change isn’t flagged at all. Overdue reviews aren’t a reason to be flagged either, and there’s no per-rep list of who is late on what.

It can’t be pointed at one rep. Admins can write shared questions or generate a set of questions for a product, but they can’t assign a quiz to one person or hand-build someone’s remedial quiz. Those are created automatically, for the person whose score triggered them.

It doesn’t retire old questions when a product changes. Editing an approved product refreshes the knowledge used for later scoring and for newly generated questions, but it doesn’t rewrite, deactivate, or delete quiz questions already in the system, and it doesn’t clear scheduled reviews. Generating a new quiz after an edit adds a new set alongside the old one. Until an admin deactivates or deletes an old question, a rep can still be quizzed on something written from older product information.

What to do with that

A few practical habits follow from this.

Look at attempts, not just counts. The team’s due number tells you there’s a backlog. Opening the attempts of the people on the needs-attention list, and the cells that look weak on the heatmap, tells you what they’re actually missing.

Tell your reps where reviews live. With no reminders, the Quiz page is the only place a due review shows up, so it helps to say so.

After you change a product, check the old questions. Deactivating the ones that no longer match keeps reviews from drilling outdated facts.

The takeaway

A remedial quiz and a review schedule turn a weak result into a follow-up that comes back on its own schedule, with no manager effort. What they don’t do is confirm that a gap closed, alert anyone to a stubborn one, or keep up with your catalog without help. Treating the loop as a useful prompt rather than proof is what keeps it honest.

See your own docs become a knowledge check. EOS turns your product documentation into practice and provable knowledge — claim extraction, fact-grounded verification, and auto-generated quizzes that reveal what reps actually know.
